1st doctor appointment and vacation

Our first appointment was on June 5, 2009. We were told previously that we would not be getting an ultrasound, and were kinda bummed. However, when we got to the doctor's office the nurse said that she was going to sneak us in between 2 scheduled appointments! We were SO excited! You can clearly see the baby in the picture! The little heart was fluttering at a healthy 168 beats per minute. You can see the head (with eyes!) 2 arms, 2 feet, and the little spinal cord tail (that is gone already by now). The mass above the baby is what feeds the baby while he/she hangs out inside mommy. Brian likes to call this the "bag of doritos" because he doesn't like the word "yolk sac" ha ha. This picture was taken right at 8 weeks.

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this past week. We went with my dad's sister and her family. My cousin has 2 young children, so Brian had lots of fun practicing his daddy skills.

We spent every morning at the beach, afternoons by the pool, nap time (for me and the kids haha) and then a different person cooked dinner every night. It was so much fun, and as much as I hated to leave, my big comfy bed was calling me back to Smyrna! We also celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary while we were down there, and hopefully it will be a tradition to be at the beach for our anniversary!

Now we're getting ready for wedding season! We've got 2 very exciting weddings on our agenda coming up. After that school will start back up, and I will be a busy bee! I took a job offer as an interim for a friend that will be having her baby in August. I will be working for 10 weeks in order to save some money for the baby! Pray for me!
